Dine

Dinner & Dessert tonight...so good...had to share!

Chicken Marbella
(This recipe was one that I snavelled from my friend Sarah).

Ingredients:

4 garlic cloves, crushed

1 tsp dried oregano

Pinch of salt and cayenne pepper

2 bay leaves

1/4 cup of red wine vinegar

1/4 cup of olive oil

1/4 cup of pitted olives

1/4 cup of capers

1/2 cup pitted prunes

...

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup white wine

...

Combine ingredients for marinade, pour over 12 chicken thighs and leave for a few hours in the fridge.

Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Arrange chicken in a single layer in a baking dish. Sprinkle with brown sugar and pour over white wine. Bake for 1 hour, occasionally basting with the marinade.

Serve with roasted eggplant & mushrooms, toasted cashews & corriander.

Yum!

On to dessert...

Blueberry & Raspberry Lime Drizzle

This recipe is from the ever lovely Emily from My Gingerbread Journey.

You'll find the recipe, complete with gorgeous pics here.

Next time that I make this, (and there will definitely be a next time!) I'll use a shallow baking tin. The loaf tin that I used was too narrow & deep and took ages to cook. Still tasted fabulous though, a winner in my book. Thanks for the recipe Em!

Enjoy Peeps...happy feasting!

Master Two

Today this handsome little chap officially left babyhood behind him. Check out that big boy spikey haircut...little spunk is stylin it up!

He's had a morning packed with presents, playgrounds, bestie cuddles and caramel cupcakes...

...a cruisey inside afternoon with the Octonaughts & Peppa Pig and an evening of carbonara, cake & vanilla bean icecream.

His big County Fair party is a few weeks away. Just. Can't. Wait! Invitations are going out this week. I promise a super special party post in late August peeps!

Jackman, you are our little fireball. We adore your mischievous cheeky spirit, your tender little heart and your curious enquiring mind.

Happy Birthday Master Two! We love you to the moon and back eleventy billion times over. xxx

Friday Fort Fun

I do love Friday afternoons when the Toddler is napping and the Preschooler is at...Preschool. The perfect window of quiet time to whip up a birthday present for my girlfriend's little man.

I love coming across great ideas for homemade gifts.

Last Christmas I bookmarked a link for a Fort Building Kit from the blog Pie Birds, Buttons & Muddy Puddles and filed it in my 'awesome kids presents' folder. This afternoon while the Jackman was softly snoring, I pulled out my sewing machine, poured a tea and set to work with an episode of Spooks playing on the iPad. Bliss!

The tute was very well done. It was easy to put together, cost effective & even came with cute printable labels. A fabulous old fashioned gift that is hours of fun for little kids with big imaginations!

Oh...completely adore this Belle & Boo card too!

Have a gorgeous weekend Peeps! xxx

Handmade again?

I've been flicking through old photos of my Puddleducklane jewellery.

These beautiful images were taken by my immensely talented & generous girlfriend Karen of Karen Pfeiffer Photography. (I'm so very proud of her and thrilled that she's just been awarded 2013 SA AIPP Family Photographer of the Year, well deserved K xxx).

It's been a couple of years since I had my little Etsy store and I have to admit that I do miss it. I don't regret closing it to focus on my family, it was the right thing to do at the time, but I am getting the urge to make pretty things again. I'm toying with the idea of reopening in Nov/Dec with a small Puddleducklane Handmade collection.

I'd like to mix it up a bit though and add things like these quirky dolls that I made for my nieces.

And this little Wabbit that I made for my girlfriend's bubba.

And maybe some cute tote bags, christmas ornaments and bunting.

More Puddleducklane Handmade? What do you think?
