Fam-tastic

We were super lucky to have some of our beloved family visiting from Qld this week. It's been a jam packed, fun filled few days.

We spent most of Wednesday exploring the War Memorial, finding two of our relatives on the Honour Roll from WW1 & WW2. The War Memorial is a truly incredible space. There is just so much to see covering every Australian involved conflict from the Boer War through to Afghanistan. The boys love the Discovery Zone with its Iroquois helicopter, trenches & submarine and the Sound & Light show in ANZAC Hall. My favourite spaces are the Hall of Memory with its beautiful mosaics and its calm, reflective quiet...and the Special Exhibition 'Nurses: from Zululand to Afghanistan' which recently went on the road as a travelling exhibit.

What better way to wow visitors than a trip to Floriade on a completely glorious Canberra day. Thursday morning was sunshine and colour in Commonwealth Park. It was Fairy Floss, Ferris Wheels & Flowers, it was Coffee, Churros and a Circus Playground. It was beautiful and fun and I loved being with family. I took the boys home for an afternoon nap while the others checked out Parliament House then it was pizza & wine for dinner at our place.

This morning we met for breakfast at Me & Mrs Jones in Kingston

then we split up and hit up Questacon, the High Court, the National Portrait Gallery and the National Library.

Such a lovely way to end the school hols. I adore my family. So very glad they came to Canberra to hang out for the hols. Love you Keeks, Dee, Pat, Suze & Dec. Thanks for stopping by. We'll see you in December. xxx
