Majura Valley Bush Festival.

We checked out the inaugural Majura Valley Bush Festival today.

As festivals go...it was one of the most well organised and enjoyable events that I've been to. The weather gods turned on an utterly glorious autumn day and Canberrans responded by turning out in droves. I loved that the different displays and exhibitions were spread out across the farm. It didn't feel crowded or stressful, in fact the atmosphere was incredibly relaxed.

The boys got their equine fix with pony rides & minature donkeys (omg I want one!)...

...and a jaunt up the road on a Cobb & Co carriage.

We sat on hay bales and devoured locally produced lamb rolls and ginger beer.

There was whip cracking, wood chopping, historical engines, shearing demonstrations, a farm animal nursery, live music, devonshire teas and equestrian displays.

All ride profits are going to the Friends of Brain Injured Children (FBIC) which is a Canberra based community organisation. Such a fantastic day in support of a fantastic cause.
Kudos to the Majura Valley organisers and volunteers who put together such a wonderful local event. We'll be back next year for some more autumn local lovely!

xx Em
