Spring Roadtrip - Brisvegas

Brisbane was our next destination...a chance to chill out on the back deck & catch up with Queen Kathleen. She pulled out all the stops during our stay. Lego, homemade brownies, a trip to the museum and the piece de resistance...watching RiverFire light up the cityscape from her front verandah.

Saturday morning we took a long anticipated train trip into the city. Harry had been hanging out for this ride for months. Oh boy...the excitement was intense! My boys can make riding on public transport seem like a trip to Disneyland. It was clear that the train journey was far more interesting than the destination, even when the destination involved dinosaurs and a porcupine fish. We lunched at the State Library (Haloumi Burgers were da bomb!) then popped next door to the Queensland Museum.

Fish & Chips for dinner and a glass of wine to go with the after dinner entertainment.

Sunday was a day of visiting my family.
Morning tea with my Nana...

...a peewee 50 for the kids to ride and a pamper party for the grown up girls at my cousin's place. We hadn't caught up for ages and it was so, soooooooo lovely to hang out again. We used to live in each others pockets as kids and not much has changed...we still laugh ourselves silly.

Happy days

xx Em
