All the Rivers Run

“The Mole was bewitched, entranced, fascinated.

By the side of the river he trotted as one trots, when very small, by the side of a man who holds one spellbound by exciting stories; and when tired at last, he sat on the bank, while the river still chattered on to him, a babbling procession of the best stories in the world, sent from the heart of the earth to be told at last to the insatiable sea.”

― Kenneth Grahame, The Wind in the Willows

Sunday morning stroll down to the river.
Baking heat, cool waters, puppies swimming, kids exploring, parents watching.

How was your weekend?

Room on the Broom

A week late, I know...but here are some snaps of our Halloween.

This year's Halloween theme was inspired by one of the boys favourite books, Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson and Axel Sheffler.

We had our new outdoor lounge setting delivered last week and I decided to recycle the cardboard boxes into huge house decorations. It was so good to get back into painting again.

It was Jack's first year trick or treating and he was beside himself with excitement. While the boys were roaming the neighborhood with Hubby I sat on the front step with a glass of wine and greeted other little witches, ghouls and goblins with a cauldron full of chocolate. The Dragon and Witch were a big hit. I loved how the jack'o'lanterns glowed as the night went inky black and the fairy lights glinted between the trees.

Now...onto Christmas.
